alex's life book

  • In early 2006, I began creating a life book for my daughter, Alex. Click here for links to articles describing my experience.
  • And for those of you who are more digitally inclined, in late 2006, I recreated key pages of Alex's lifebook for an article I wrote for AlphaMom, using Scrapblog.

You can see the final digital result (and leave comments, if you'd like!) here.

Now when I said I liked the short 'do', I didn't have a coconut in mind. Just so ya know.

That funny girl!

Mary, mom to many

Sarcastic Journalist

Your pictures are always beautiful. If I had my way, your house would be full of framed pictures of your beautiful girl.

tanyetta

cute cute cute.

dj tillahwillah

Better to be a coconut head than a zaboca head! ha!

Lisa

Huh? You're kidding, right?

sinda

you go, girl!

dave / higher powered

but ... but ...
she's TOPLESS!!
(will that make 2 of you?) LOL

Sally

That is the sweetest picture ever!

Buffy

Absolutely gorgeous!

Meepers

Don't make me say this.... will she be "puttin' the lime in de coconut" now? Sorry, could not stop myself. Such a cutie - but I notice this is one of only a few I can recall where she doesn't have a HUGE toothy grin on her face. It makes her look older (definitely four) and a tiny bit mysterious. Oh Karen and Marcus... I can see into your future and you should definitely see if you can arrange that marriage to one of those two cute boys. Either that or bring back the muu-muu as fashion statement!

Sylvie

Ok this is crazy! I found myself sitting here at my computer going "OH Karen gets a haircut today!" and I was anxious to get over here to see what you decided on......now I feel foolish. PICTURES PLEASE!

Lu

definitely a hairy coconut. Does the baby agree with your new style?!

Owlhaven

Great haircut! Way cuter than the coconut, though not necessarily cuter than the kiddo HOLDING the coconut.
Mary, mom to many and stricken very ill today. My kids are rampaging the house as I type weakly from my semireclined position on the couch.
PS-- I already voted

Mir

You are way prettier than any hairy ol' coconut. Lurve it! May I be the first to say...

... MAZEL TOV, SUCKER!

ToadyJoe

RAR! I'm looovin' it. Very very nice!

tina

Short! Sassy! YAY! I've been grappling with this same hair dilemma for quite some time. YOU can wear short hair beautifully. Me? I'd look more like a fuzzy potato with a short cut.

Lisa

1) I did my part. Voted a few days ago.

2) LOVE the new do! It's great on you.

MamaChristy

You are so pretty - with or without lots of hair. Good for you!

I voted during your last plea. I'd vote again, but wouldn't that mess up the "statistically significant" data? Oh, and you are anything but insignificant. ;)

tanyetta

GOR-Juss. What are their instructions on upkeep? What type of moisturizer will/do you use? CUTE CUTE CUTE.

arubagirl

Beautiful!

sinda

You look great, Karen.

Just took the survey, your significance is rising steadily!

Shna

Your hair looks great! Oh, I took the survey too :)

Schmoopy

Love the cut, the cutie talking about coconuts and the superhero necklace. Took survey a while back, you are significant.

Jo

Much nicer than a coconut! I was worried you had done the bic thing. Ahhhh, but no, you look lovely. You are one of those utterly hateful people who look gorgeous if their hair is short or long, so I just might have to kill you to put you out of misery.
And you nagged me into it, I went and did the survey.

Jo

Out of MY misery. Sigh for typos.
